My current community learning site is San Diego High School. Although it is fun volunteering there, it is not
helping me gain skills to use for my future career. I plan to excel in a career in music. None of the service
learning sites offered through my Price Program will help me gain skills for my career but an internship will. If
I was able to intern in a studio or at performances, I would be able to see how the positions work. Even
though I currently rap at an in-home studio, I would like to spend time in a professional environment.
I have been to a concert and while there I viewed the people who were visible. The DJ, performers and hype men all had my
eyes stuck on them. But I did not get to participate in the event or help make it happen. Being able to
participate in a music lab or performance will both help me become more determined to excel in my career.

I Will Start A Riot, Over My Diet ! -.-
Growing up i ate really unhealthy. In the 5th grade I was told by my doctor I was overweight. Yes, another
LOW INCOME AFRICAN-AMERICAN labeled as overweight. I was teased and talked about behind
my fat back. I couldn't understand how I got that way or why it was me overweight. I ate unhealthy food on
a daily basis including taco shop, Mcdonalds, doughnut, and all types of fatty snacks. In the 7th grade I
wanted to be a part of a pop Warner football team. In order to play, I had to be 160 pounds. I was at 195
pounds. I really wanted to play so I took on the challenge. My diet consisted of Organic milk, chicken
breast, a weight loss shake, and salad. I stuck strictly to that diet and lost 25 pounds in two months.
Although it wasn't enough I felt good about myself. I continued to exercise and eat better. My freshman year
in high school I joined the football team. There was no weight limit to play. I enjoyed playing football all
throughout my high school career. I am now around 200 pounds with much less body fat than before. I am
being educated more and more about the horrible things in our foods today. I am in the process in becoming
an Organic eater after being re-introduced to the healthy, tasty types of foods available. The prices of organic
foods are high but my health is more important. I now work out twice a day and can happily say I'm not
overweight. Before the year is over I will proudly say I only eat organic foods.

Mid Long GONE
I want to achieve all of my goals before I leave this earth. Every last one, from the short-term to the last goal.
The older I get the closer I am to my career in rap. But once that happens it will open up many other goals.
For example, donating a large amount of money to a non profit organization that needs it. Or making sure my
Grandpa's lights don't get cut off again. Life is filled of all work. Rather its with your brains or hands, you
have to work hard in this world if you honestly want to become something. Once you get older things may
slow down a little. No more career goals because your career would be over. But the short and mid term
goals will never fade away till your happily resting.
I am doing my service learning at San Diego High School and I believe it will help me get to my short term
goal of becoming a football coach. I would like to at least coach at the High School level for a few years until I become too busy. I have already talked to coach Packwood and he told me to be ready for the next season. I look to contribute to the success of the Cavers but get them to the C.I.F finals. Packwood seems like a great coach but I know he needs support with only 4 varsity coaches.

This how It's gonna be?
A few weeks ago I was "hired" to help Elite security & the athletic at San Diego High School. I wasn't expecting to do so much right away because they were very unorganized. The reasoning being because staff was being moved around, fired and hired. I feel that I won't be needed by their athletic department because they first have to get all the new coaches settled in. In the Elite security I'm able to work at charger games. Even though I am a die hard Raider fan, I expect to have fun at the live Qualcolmm stadium.

Dream On-Aerosmith
Many people dream big once they find out what big is. Anything from becoming the President to having sex for the first time can be dreaming big. Not having the option to fully pursue that dream right away is very common in our world today. Kids have to go to school and after school most people go off and find a job. I have been fully pushing my dream away by being busy with life everyday. I still see my dream in my future but sometimes doubt it. I have achieved one of my goals of becoming a productive adult. This is just the beginning and I know the future holds greatness for me. School takes a lot of time from us but I encourage everyone to still take the needed steps to live that dream. Now, dream on!

Write Write Write !
Having a blog has forced me to write in a proper way and for a point with evidence. Before entering Mr. Henry's class I had difficulties writing my thoughts clearly and making sure I had evidence in my writing. I can now more confidently write and come up with ideas for my writings. Writing will be a part of my life till I die and maybe even after! In the future I will like to have a few books written and that will be impossible without the skills I'm learning in English. Writing is important from basic to advanced. If you cannot properly write no one will understand what your saying. If you can come up with a detailed writing with much support and interesting facts, you can make millions. Many well known artist sell thousands of book copies. Without writing I wouldn't be able to read. Without reading I wouldn't be able to remember what I learned. And so on. Even though I write for myself, I am now beginning to learn how to write for an audience. Many people live on writing, from a musician to a blog writer writing will always be important.
Ever read a book and just couldn't stop reading? You were probably a victim of cliffhangers. Many writers use cliffhangers to keep readers into their writings. A cliffhanger is a suspenseful situation occurring at the end
of a chapter, scene, or episode. This reading device leaves readers on an edge. The more common cliffhangers are in soap operas. Usually before the episode ends you are guessing what will happen next. To
me TV cliffhangers are the worst cliffhangers because you can't control when you see it again. I was once afraid to sleep in the dark because I believed in monsters. My parents told me I was scared because I was
too bad. I never worried about it because I always left my light on. One day I got expelled from school for fighting. I laid down that night wondering what school I would go to next. As I was sleep a crazy dream shot
in my head. I was new at a probational school with all criminals. There was a kid that fought all new students so he wanted to fight me. Me being the fighter I was didn't back down. Once I attempted to punch him he
pulled out a knife. I started to run for my life but another guy with a knife popped in front of me. I looked back and there was the first fighter.I stopped. Then I woke up- in the dark. To be continued.

Music Is MY Motivation.
Ambition Wale Ft Rick Ross & Meek Mill.
For the past few years I've had visions of my successful future. I know I will become a professional rapper and when i do i will change many lives. In the world we live in today money is everything. How can a broke 18 year old help another broke persons life? It is possible but it's a hard task. Like trying to bribe or lead my brother into taking action on becoming successful so we can have not one but two smart, hard-working men our my family. I've seen no improvement-
It's gotten worst.
I feel if I become successful many others will see that even if your from a "ghetto" neighborhood you are able to win! I have a horrible past that I rarely discuss and try to not look back on. Listening to this song motivates me to continue to be ambitious and to never give up because I know one day I will be at the top helping ones in need. Without the support I'm getting, I would've never been able to be on this path I'm on. Around my wall I have a sign that says, Wish it, dream it, do it. I am still in the wishing stage so waiting to get on the dreaming stage is what I'm doing. It's free so I'll happily settle for it. -
Would you like to live off free money? Most will say yes to this but I'm totally against it. People work hard every day to provide for their families and themselves. Although I only have 3 people in my family that have jobs and do not receive financial assistance from the government, I believe people that receive any government money need to be working for that money. I received government money half of my life. I can easily say it helped me and my family survive when we started to become poor. My grandmother couldn’t work and my grandfather had a low paying job, along with that he was an alcoholic. I do understand some people cannot work or make living on their own because of disabilities, mental issues, old age, etc. There’s nothing they can do about that so they should be covered by the government.
I work hard for any money I receive from the government, and I believe others should have to work hard for "free" money also. I am eligible to receive food stamps, a card that allows you to buy food from about every grocery store, but I don't apply because I'm surviving without it. I know of many people who receive peoples tax money, but can they can survive without it. I wouldn't want my taxes to go to a person who just uses the money to make their lives easier and just to not have to work. It makes no sense, if I have to work hard why wouldn’t everyone else? Giving back to your community by doing work for food or money is a perfect way to make victims earn their government money. They gain experience and also earn money to survive. San Diego is already broke, so we can use the people receiving free money to work. I am not just a mean guy complaining, I just never believed in fully depending on others to make a life. San Diego needs to wake up!

I believe I was put here to help others succeed.
In order for me to teach another how to succeed, I have to know how myself.
It takes a lot because I have to first accept many things I don't want to and then learn new information.
Learning is gaining new, or fixing existing, knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences and may
involve synthesizing different types of information.
I prefer hands on learning so that I can make mistakes and learn from them. For example, when I was taught
how to swim, practicing swimming made me become a great swimmer.
I also like to learn from others mistakes, it doesn't always have to be from a personal experience. I enjoy the
type of learning when I get taught something then experiment. I can learn effectively many different ways it
depends on the topic and situation at hand.

Before I even got to walk across my graduation stage, I was enrolled in college. From that point on I knew I wasn't done with school. Crawford CHAMPs pushed me to some of my limits but once I earned my diploma I was so relieved!
But that was just the beginning. It didn't bother me because I was eager to begin attacking my psychology degree. Once I attended the SRP orientation, I knew SRP wouldn't be a waste of time. Getting a head start on my career means a lot to me, even if i have to give up the things i love doing.
I could have been spending time with loved ones, working, or attending the summer baseball tryouts. I also put a hold on my growing career (rapping) to be able to spend time studying and doing homework.
In order to make good music I need to be able to sit and release thoughts. Being stressed forces nothing to come out.
Now that I am enrolled, I love most of my classes. I have a wonderful English and personal growth professor. They both develop great relationships with their students and have a excellent way of teaching. It is difficult transitioning from high school to college but I've learned from experiences that if you really want something you have to work hard for it.
Having homework is something I never enjoyed but having respect for my professors and self-motivation causes me to get it done.
I believe the SRP will make the difference of me becoming a successful college student.
I believe the SRP will make the difference of me becoming a successful college student.
This Will Make A Huge Change!
When I started the Summer Readiness Program some major factors in my life were changing. I was again moving places, I turned 18 and I was done with High School. This opened much independence for me, everything I did was on my own choice. Having all my family members graduate High School then stop he or she education there made me believe that was my only option. I decided to take a smarter route which was enroll into college.
With that came few consequences. Being able to go to school and manage things I do in my everyday life. I'm into the third week of college and I've already found out I'm horrible with time management due to my procrastinating and high interest in activities outside of school. I feel getting a heads up of what college will be like this fall make a huge difference. I am now working on better managing my time by putting homework first. I now know I have to stay after school to complete my homework if i want to be a successful student.
I really encourage great time management to other students because it's the safest way to make they're getting their work done.
